The Chatka Ruggiero Low Cost Spay/Neuter Clinic (firstname.lastname@example.org)
All surgeries are performed by a licensed Veterinarian. Surgeries must be scheduled in advance. No walk-ins will be accepted. To make an appointment, either call the shelter at (708)848-8155 or visit us in person at the address above. Animals must be dropped off on the day of surgery between 8:00am and 8:30am and must be picked up between 3:30pm and 4:30pm the same day. A $50/day fee will be assessed for any animal not picked up by the required time.
Payment for all services rendered by the Animal Care League are due at the time animals are DROPPED OFF at the shelter. We accept cash, personal checks with ID, and visa, mastercard, or discover. Due to the increased risks associated with anesthesia, surgery, or recovery in the following pets, our clinic will not perform surgeries on dogs that weigh more than 80lbs, dogs that are over 6 years of age, cats that are over 10 years of age, or on the following breeds: English Bulldogs.
We perform spay and neuter for dogs for $75.
We perform spay and neuter for cats for $50.
We require that all pets have proof that they are current on their vaccines: DA2PP for dogs and FVRCP for cats, and rabies for both dogs and cats. If your pet is not up to date, these vaccines can be provided the day of surgery for $20 for DA2PP and FVRCP and $15 for rabies one year with Cook Co. rabies tag.
Low Income Vaccinations
The Animal Care League understands that everyone wants the best care possible for their pets, but may be faced with financial difficulties. While we recommend that every pet has an annual examination, consultation, and vaccinations or other tests and treatments from their full service veterinarian, we know that is not an option for everyone. The Animal Care League offers afternoon appointments for low cost vaccinations and basic veterinary medical care to families that qualify as being low income.
To make an appointment, one must first obtain a voucher from the Walk in Ministry (848 Lake St; Oak Park).
Proof of Income include:
LINK or Medical benefits card
Social Security award letter
Disability award letter
Alternatively, if client is a registered food pantry client, they will qualify
Call 708-386-1946 with questions about qualifying for low income status or 708-848-8155 to make an appointment for vaccinations.
The Animal Care League will microchip a companion animal for $15 for anyone wishing this service. Appointments are required and can be made by phoning (708)848-8155 or visiting the shelter at the address above.
